Sophie, an girl who lives in an orphanage, is awakened one night by the sound of a giant outside her window. It turns out to be the Big Friendly Giant (BFG) who blows dreams into people's windows at night. He's never been seen by a human being before, so he takes Sophie back to his home with him. While he doesn't eat humans, the nine other giants who live in the land with him love the taste of humans. They go off to eat humans every night. Sophie insists they must put a stop to it, but how?
